Libra Shit
Why Are Libras Indecisive? Because All the Options Had Potential.
I made a decision. Then another option entered the room with good lighting and a reasonable argument. We are reviewing the matter now.
I made a decision.
Then another option entered the room with good lighting and a reasonable argument.
We are reviewing the matter now. 😂
Libras get accused of being indecisive because we can see more than one valid possibility at the same time. Other people call that a problem. We call it having a complete understanding of the situation before choosing the wrong answer beautifully.
Is astrology science? No.
Is this going to stop me from using it to explain why choosing a restaurant somehow becomes a congressional hearing? Also no.
Every option deserves a fair trial
Some people look at a menu and decide what they want.
I look at a menu and build relationships with several possible futures.
The salmon is responsible. The pasta feels emotionally available. The steak has confidence. Then somebody's plate arrives at the next table and introduces new evidence after deliberations have already begun.
Now everybody is rushing me.
Why?
We have waited this long. We should respect the process.
The Libra stereotype is not that we have no opinion. We may have six opinions, each with supporting documents and an attractive outfit.
The trouble begins when possibility starts feeling like a responsibility.
If more than one option could become something good, choosing one feels like rejecting several innocent lives that never got their chance.
That is dramatic.
It is also why I have forty-seven open tabs.
Seeing every side is useful until you move into the middle
The ability to understand different perspectives can make you thoughtful, diplomatic, and hard to manipulate with a simple story.
It can also make you stand in the center of a decision until everybody else goes home.
There is always another angle.
What if they meant something else? What if the timing is wrong but the idea is right? What if the red looks better in daylight? What if I choose the practical option and spend the rest of my life wondering whether the irresponsible one had better music?
At some point, fairness to every possibility becomes unfairness to your actual life.
You cannot experience all the paths by refusing to walk one.
Eventually the middle stops being balanced.
It becomes parked.
Taste makes decisions harder because details matter
People assume indecision means you do not know what you like.
Sometimes you know exactly what you like, which is why almost-right becomes so irritating.
The color is good, but the cut is wrong. The image is strong, but the crop is disrespectful. The song works, but the snare entered the room dressed for a different event.
Taste notices.
That is useful in art, branding, performance, clothes, rooms, and anything else where the feeling depends on choices most people may never consciously name.
It becomes exhausting when every decision receives creative-director treatment.
The toothbrush does not need a brand strategy.
Buy one. 😂
Sometimes “I need more time” means “I do not want the consequence”
More information sounds responsible.
Sometimes it is.
Sometimes you already know the answer and dislike what the answer will require.
Choosing may disappoint somebody. It may close a door. It may reveal what you value. It may remove the fantasy that all options remain available to a future version of you with unlimited time, money, energy, and storage.
Indecision can keep the dream clean because nothing has been tested.
The business idea cannot fail if it remains beautifully organized in Notes. The song cannot be judged if it never leaves the studio. The relationship cannot reject the real you if you keep presenting an agreeable sample size.
That is not balance.
That is fear wearing a nice jacket and asking for one more comparison chart.
A decision does not have to become your identity
Part of the pressure comes from treating every choice like a permanent public statement about who you are.
If I choose this lane, am I now that kind of person? If I publish this idea, does every future thought have to match it? If I try one direction, have I betrayed the others?
No.
In “You Don’t Need a Niche. You Need a Point of View.”, I wrote about letting one recognizable mind hold different kinds of work.
The same freedom applies to decisions.
A choice can be an experiment. A season. The best move with the information available. You are allowed to learn something and choose again.
Changing your mind after new evidence is not failure.
Changing it every six minutes because commitment made eye contact is something else.
Stop asking a decision to remove all uncertainty
The perfect choice is supposed to arrive with peace, certainty, excellent skin, and a soundtrack confirming that no other option could ever have worked.
Rude of life not to provide that.
Most meaningful decisions leave some uncertainty alive.
You may choose the right relationship and still wonder about freedom. Choose freedom and still miss companionship. Choose the creative path and occasionally envy the predictable check. Choose stability and sometimes wonder what your wild idea could have become.
A decision can be right without making every unchosen possibility look terrible.
That may be the most Libra lesson available.
You do not need to turn the other options ugly before you can choose the beautiful one in front of you.
Give the decision a job
When every option looks possible, ask what the decision needs to do now.
Not forever. Not for every version of your life. Now.
Does it need to create momentum? Protect your peace? Make money? Tell the truth? Get the project out of your head and into the world? Give you enough information to make the next decision?
A clear job creates a filter.
Then give yourself a deadline and decide what evidence is allowed to reopen the case.
Without that rule, the mind will keep finding new exhibits because that is what minds do when they learn nobody is closing the courthouse.
In “Creative Flow Is Not Something You Can Bully Into the Room.”, I wrote that a small, honest target gives attention somewhere to land.
Decisions need the same kindness.
Choose the next honest move. Let action teach you what thinking cannot.
Yes, I decided. Please stop making it weird.
I am not giving up the ability to see multiple sides. That quality has saved me from shallow conclusions and helped me build a world where music, writing, comedy, performance, and contradiction can belong together.
I am learning that honoring every option does not require dating all of them.
Some possibilities need appreciation, not commitment.
Some need a folder for later.
Some need to be thanked for their presentation and escorted from the building.
The decision may not feel perfect.
It only needs to move the life I am living instead of preserving every life I could imagine.
Now please give me the menu back. I want to make sure. 😂
